Filming on Columbia Pictures' thriller will begin in November.
Screen Queensland has unveiled the first act in its 2015-16 early career screen program - Queensland Originals: Short Fiction.
Filming is set to start on October 26 in Western Australia.
This is the second feature for Lucas, whose debut, Wasted on the Young, was acquired by Paramount in Australia and nominated for an AACTA Award.
Niasari has been named as an attachment to Emma Freeman on the Matchbox Pictures TV series Secret City for Foxtel.
They will work on projects and be mentored as part of a development initiative funded through Screen Australia’s Enterprise Stories program.
The new political thriller, produced by Matchbox Pictures, begins shooting in Canberra this month.
