Australian short film Crossbow has received a nomination for Best Screenplay in a Short Film in the 2007 Australian Film Institute (AFI) Awards.
Written and directed by David Michôd and produced by Angie Fielder and Polly Staniford, Crossbow was funded by the NSW Film and Television Office under the Young Filmmakers Fund. It stars Joel Edgerton, Lisa Chappell, Cy Standen and Mirrah Foulkes.
Crossbow won the Film Victoria Erwin Rado Award for Best Australian Short Film at Melbourne International Film Festival earlier this year and premiered internationally at the Venice International Film Festival. The film has also screened in the Sydney, Brisbane and Milan International Film Festivals.
Upcoming festival screenings include the Prague Short Film Festival and the Bilbao Film Festival, both in November.
