Foxtel’s Arena channel, the producers of Days of our Lives, Corday Productions Inc. and distributor, Sony Pictures Television are excited to announce the winner of the Days of our Lives Search for a Star competition is established Sydney actor Alexander Bruszt.
Alexander, 32, one of over 300 actors who entered Arena’s online competition, has been chosen after flying to Los Angeles last week to screen test with two other finalists, for the chance of a lifetime to star on the iconic series.
Alexander will play the role of Fynn, a handsome, rugged Australian doctor who arrives in Salem to do his residency, specifically to gain skills as a surgeon, working under the supervision of Doctor Jonas (Shawn Christian).
Alexander started out in the acting world at age 16 joining an agency and ending up on the set of Home and Away a week later. His other television credits include various hosting roles such as his two-year hosting of Super Simpsons Live on Foxtel’s FOX8 with Amy Erbacher and hosting Foxtel’s RA surf show. His movie credits include lead roles in short films Overdrawn, The Brother, Room With View and supporting role in Little Black Dress as well as being a familiar face in over 100 commercials.
Alexander will return to Los Angeles next month to shoot his episodes which will hit our screens in Australia for the first time in November culminating during the show’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
Alexander said, “This has been the most amazing time for me. I could have only dreamed of a role like this and I am looking forward to this opportunity to work with such an incredibly talented cast and crew on such an internationally respected daytime drama.”
Days of our Lives is set in the fictitious Midwestern town of Salem. The core families are the Brady’s, the Horton’s, and the DiMeras, and the multi-layered storylines involve elements of romance, adventure, mystery, comedy and drama. In true Days of our Lives style, Alexander’s character Fynn will find things are shaken up the first day he arrives.

Days of our Lives airs Express from the US at 12.50pm weekdays on Arena. Arena provides weekly DOOL omnibus catch up on Sunday mornings from 7-11.30am EST.
