[press release from ABC Publicity]
WANTED: The next generation of broadcasters to produce an irreverent TV and web program about serious things.
ABC TV and Zapruder’s Other Films – the people who brought the Chaser team to TV, and the creative force behind The Gruen Transfer and ENOUGH ROPE with Andrew Denton – are now actively looking for creative young people who are original thinkers with a view about what’s happening in the world.
Andrew Denton, the show’s Co-Executive Producer said: “We are looking for people keen to rattle some cages and receive mail beginning with the words ‘Dear Sir or Madam, I have never been so outraged in all my life’. It’s not just on-air talent we’re after. This is a great opportunity for a new and talented team, across several disciplines, to build a TV and web program from the ground up."
Project NEXT, the working title of this new topical 10 x 30min program, will be on your screens later this year – on ABC1, ABC2, the web, mobile phones and on-line.
Series Producer Andy Nehl said: “We want to open the door to a new generation of communicators and performers, to find people who will abandon the usual definitions and who can look at the world in a different way. These are people who know in their hearts that there’s more to the news cycle than we are being fed each week.”
WHO CAN APPLY: applications are welcome from people aged 18-30 to work as reporters, producers, camera/directors, editors, graphic artists, researchers and web content producers.
HOW TO APPLY: go to projectnext.net.au for the application form. Deadline is close of business Monday March 16, 2009.
Project NEXT is a Zapruder’s other films and ABC TV Arts, Entertainment and Comedy co-production.
