Duo try out Screen NSW’s desks at AiF’s LA hotdesking space Charlie’s

Screen NSW is calling for applications to Charlie’s, Australians in Film's new hotdesking space for the Aussie screen community in LA.

The space was most recently occupied by NSW writer/producer/director Julie Kalceff and NSW actor/producer Rosie Lourde, who were in Los Angeles for the red carpet premiere of the new season of their online drama Starting From Now.

“It was brilliant to have such a well designed and well located space to work from, " Julie Kalceff said.

"It made it so much easier to function at a professional level, but also psychologically as it was so invigorating to be surrounded by the creative buzz of the industry.”

Screen NSW funds two hot desks and access to a meeting room at Charlie’s, which was named after Charlie Chaplin and is located at Raleigh Studios.

Rosie Lourde said: “If Charlie’s had been set up during our previous trips, we know we would be further along in conversations about distribution deals, representation and next projects.”

Charlie’s was designed by Australian interior designer and photographer Ingrid Weir. In addition to Screen NSW's desks there are two others in the space: one belonging to Screen QLD and one to AFTRS.

Access to the Screen NSW desks is free and can be applied for here: http://www.screen.nsw.gov.au/funding/industry-support/Charlie's
