Shock Entertainment and FremantleMedia Australia announced today that they will be releasing the hit Foxtel series Wentworth on DVD and Blu-ray on Monday, 18th November 2013.
The contemporary re-imagining of the iconic Prisoner series has been a breakout hit for Foxtel’s SoHo channel as Wentworth captivated critics and TV audiences to become the most watched scripted series in Australian Subscription TV history. A second series has been commissioned and will
commence filming later this year.

Wentworth will be available as a 5-disc DVD set and also 3-disc Blu-ray set across Australia and New Zealand from November 18. “We are delighted that we will be first to the Home Entertainment market, alongside the UK release, with the most anticipated Australian TV series this year,” states Darrien Puddy, Executive General Manager of Shock Entertainment. “We wanted to give Australian and New Zealand fans the earliest possible opportunity to get their hands on this incredible show. The 5-disc DVD and 3-disc Blu-ray sets will hit the market in the most buoyant trading period of the year.
The Home Entertainment release will contain over 2 hours of extras, which provides fantastic added value for Wentworth’s legion of existing fans, and the many new consumers that discover this brilliant series for the 1st time on DVD or Blu-ray”.
