ESSENCE OF TASMANIA SHORT FILM COMPETITION

Press Release from Tsuki

Entries in the second „Essence of Tasmania‟ Short Film Competition run by BOFA (The Tasmanian Breath of Fresh Air Film Festival) and Tourism Tasmania, close at the end of May.

Tourism Tasmania is contributing a prize pool of $20,000, with up to four winners receiving $5000 for their Essence of Tasmania short film.

Film makers – professional and amateur – are invited to submit a film story of up to three minutes duration which interprets Tasmania in new and different ways.

Filmmakers are encouraged to capture the essence of Tasmania in the form of a story rather than a travelogue of images, and entry is open worldwide. The winning films will be used to promote the state through Tourism Tasmania‟s social media and other promotions, and will be featured at BOFA 2013, to be held November 7 to 10 in Launceston.

Entries close on May 31 with the short films assessed by a formal judging panel and winners notified by June 24. There will also be a People‟s Choice award this year, with the vote opening on the BOFA Facebook site from midnight Friday 21 June. The winners selected by the People's Choice and by the judges will be announced on July 15 2013.

For information on how to enter visit http://bofa.com.au/2013/home/prizes-awards/. Details will be stipulated within the forms making up the formal online entry process. Film makers should enter the competition with output recorded in Full HD.

In the first year of the competition, more than 20 short films were submitted. The winning entries from our 2012 Essence of Tasmania Short Film Competition can be found here http://campaigns.discovertasmania.com/national/bofa2012
