Film Vic puts over $470,000 behind local game development

Over $470,000 presses play for more locally developed games



Eight games will share in $470,436 of funding through our Assigned Production Investment and Games Release programs.



The funding will see the development of Earthlight – a Virtual Reality game that allows players to immerse themselves in the wonder and peril of space exploration;  a new project from Loveshack, makers of the highly original, critically acclaimed hit Framed; an innovative puzzle Role Playing Game for mobile devices by Robot CircusProject Ven – a visual novel set in an alternate magic realist Melbourne; Screencheat by Samurai Punk which is a multiplayer game with a split-screen shooter andMoonman which sends players off on adventures in unique alien worlds of towns, forests, tombs, mountains and strange landscapes.



Though the Games Release program, two projects will be given the opportunity to craft a marketed release of their project. Defect, developed by Three Phase Interactive, is a game that allows players to build the ultimate ship piece by piece, and Desync, by The Foregone Syndicate is an intense first-person action game where the player can use the many tools available to eliminate foes. Read more about our games programs…
