Press release from QPIX
Actor Kestie Morassi (Wolf Creek, Underbelly, Satisfaction, Offspring, Wilfred) will star in short film Fearless that starts shooting in Dimore on Saturday 22nd October.
Kestie shot to fame in the iconic horror feature film Wolf Creek. More recently Kestie starred in the original series of Underbelly where she played provocative lawyer, Zara Garde-Wilson.
Inspired by the works of war photographers Catherine Leroy and Tim Page, Fearless is a story of a woman fighting for survival while lying wounded in a bomb crater.
The film is being produced by a team of students from QPIX's pilot film producer’s course, the Diploma of Screen and Media – the first course of its kind in Australia.
The student producers are working in partnership with executive producer QPIX and award winning producer and director Lav Bodnaruk and Mike Mier of Lav Productions to produce the film.
The high production values of Fearless have been a key factor in helping the team to sign up some of Australia’s most famous crew including production designer Jon Dowding (Mad Max).
The students have also received generous support from Allan Andersen at Claypave, O’Malley’s Pub, Blue Gulabi restaurant, Coles, Nova Radio and Officeworks and still have an opportunity for a corporate partner interested in becoming the major sponsor of the film.
