KOJO appoints two new directors to its board

Press release

KOJO has appointed two new directors to its Board as the firm continues to build on its reputation as an innovative creative storyteller.
Respected and experienced industry professionals David Minear and Maryanne Milazzo join KOJO at a time when the company is expanding nationally.

Mr Minear has a long and distinguished career in advertising having held keypositions at Young & Rubicam including national creative director, vice chairman Australasia, managing director for the Adelaide arm and chief executive for the Mattingly Melbourne office. He currently runs independent Australian recording label, Bombora, as well as a boutique advertising consultancy under the same name.

Sydney-based Ms Milazzo joins the Board with broad business experience having been an owner and director of a leading Australian interior design practice and a partner of a major architectural firm during a career spanning more than 30 years.
Ms Milazzo was married to the late John Chataway, a founding Partner of KOJO.

KOJO Chairman Steve Wise said the new appointments strengthened the Board and were another key step forward in the firm’s strategic and creative direction.

“David and Maryanne both have a deep understanding of KOJO’s dynamic culture and share the firm’s passion for creative storytelling,” Mr Wise said.
“David has been involved with KOJO’s internal creative incubator initiative launched in 2011 and has partnered with the firm on joint advertising projects over the years. His leadership, skills and experience will be major assets in fostering creativity throughout the company.

“Maryanne is a respected businesswoman and has forged a successful career within design and architecture – industries that embrace creativity and innovation. She has particular strengths in business growth strategy, communication, problem solving and people management.”

The Board appointments are the latest in a series of positive management moves for the company, which last month appointed digital executive Stephen Lord as its Melbourne-based General Manager.

KOJO is also in discussions to establish a Sydney office.

KOJO specialises in content, digital, events and post-production with offices in Adelaide and Melbourne as well as a growing presence in Sydney and Perth. The company currently has work in production across Australia and overseas including two feature films, an international television series, multiple digital projects and television commercials as well as staging a series of live events nationally.

KOJO’s new Board comprises of:
• Steve Wise (Chairman)
• Dale Roberts (Chief Executive Officer)
• Marty Pepper
• Kent Smith
• David Minear
