FINAL CALL FOR FILM SUBMISSIONS For Immediate Release SYDNEY, 21 April 2016 – Filmmakers have until Friday, 13 May to submit their works for screening at the Lebanese Film Festival (LFF) in Sydney, Australia, this August. Criteria for submission include films reflecting either Lebanon; its people; its culture; directed by someone of Lebanese descent, or filmed in Lebanon. Now in its fifth edition, the LFF has screened over 115 films to date ranging from local to international features, shorts, documentaries and animations. Films featured in this year’s program are in the running to win the annual LFF Film of the Year which is awarded to the best film as judged by the official LFF panel. LFF Director, Mr Camille Lattouf says, “We are really looking forward to showcasing diverse works from budding and professional filmmakers. We would also like to see more local works. It’s been five years since the LFF launched so this year is a key milestone for us and we look forward to celebrating with a spectacular film line-up.” Set up as a grassroots not-for-profit organisation, the Bankstown based LFF aims to make arts accessible across Australia and give a fresh perspective into Lebanon, its people and culture as told by filmmakers all around the world.
