After a week and a half at the Aussie box office, animation flick Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole has raked in almost $2 million.
The visually-stunning film, which opened in Victoria and Queensland on September 27 and nation-wide three days later, made $1,363,070 in its opening weekend across 347 screens, giving it a screen average of $3928.
In the US, the film came in at number two behind Despicable Me and has grossed $US31,268,680 after being released on September 24. It had a less-than-expected opening in the US, making $US16,112,211 across 3575 screens.
Aussie/French co-production The Tree, directed by Julie Bertuccelli, took $69,838 across 21 screens in its opening weekend and now has a total tally of $130,142.
Tomorrow, When The War Began made $707,835 across 240 screens, down 15 per cent on the previous weekend ($833,091) and has now taken $11,945,992.
Kiwi flick Boy continues to hang in there, making $83,794 on the weekend making its total tally of $1,552,030 Down Under.
