After three weeks at the Australian box office, animated feature Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole has slipped to seventh place over the weekend, making $375,206.
This was down 61 per cent on the previous weekend ($959,444) and had a screen average of $1340 (across 280 screens).
It’s now made $4,087,329.
In the US, Guardians – an adaptation of the fantasy book written by American author Kathryn Lasky – has made $US46,251,994 since opening on September 24, according to Box Office Mojo.
Stuart Beattie action flick Tomorrow, When the War Began made it to ninth position, making $282,628 across 168 screens, bring its total to an impressive $13,047,619 Down Under.
Aussie/French co-production The Tree made $27,621 over the weekend across 17 screens, bringing its total box office to $254,336 after three weeks, while South Solitary made $3559 from just three screens.
Supernatural thriller Road Train, directed by debutant feature filmmaker Dean Francis and starring Xavier Samuel (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse), opens tomorrow in South Australia.
