The second season of the critically acclaimed series Life Force has been awarded a Gold World Medal for Documentary and Information Programming at the New York Festivals International Television & Film Awards 2015.
Two years in the making, Life Force 2 is a global production, produced by NHK, NHNZ and CCTV9, in association with Science Channel, Discovery Networks International, Arte and SVT.
This blue-chip evolutionary wildlife science series follows the dramas of the daily lives of animals found in biodiverse global ‘hot spots’, unravelling compelling science mysteries and showing how strange ties and curious connections bind our mutant world.
NHNZ Managing Director Kyle Murdoch says that the recognition proves the value of co-producing with international partners: “At every stage of production we have worked closely with our co-production partners, bringing together skills from around the word to make the best program possible.
The result is extremely rich and compelling evolutionary wildlife stories that have a global appeal – and it is great to then be recognized by a highly competitive and well-esteemed festival that receives entries from over 50 countries around the world.”
The series has also been selected to screen at the International Wildlife Film Festival Missoula and the Abbeville Bird and Nature Festival in France.
Life Force 2 is distributed in Asia by NHK Enterprises, and internationally by Discovery Program Sales.
