Melbourne Underground Film Festival has announced 2014 screening dates from 06-14 September at Revolt Artspace in Kensington for the 14th annual event.
Submissions for entry are still open through the event website until 28 June as the festival seeks to expand its reputation for discovering Australia’s most innovative filmmakers.
Festival director Richard Wolstencroft is proud of the event’s history of controversy.
“Too many talented directors remain unrecognized because they have a whacky idea or don’t follow a certain prescribed formula,” he said, “MUFF rewards innovative, revolutionary cinema and promotes independent artists who do not have the financial backing of major production companies.”
Saw director James Wan is one of the festival’s previous award winners.
Submission entry forms are available on the festival website .
