Underbelly actor Damon Gameau's Animal Beatbox has won the 19th annual Movie Extra Tropfest.
More than 150,000 fans nationwide flocked to screenings of the world’s largest short film festival, while many watched on Movie Extra at home.
Judges included Bruce Beresford, Olivia Newtown-John, Jack Thompson, Xavier Samuel, Stephan Elliott, Liz Watts, last year’s Tropfest winner Abe Forsythe and Tropfest founder and director John Polson.
The winning film, using this year's signature of a key, was shot in his mother’s spare room for $85.
A light bulb will be next year's signature item.
