Entrants were asked to create a 60 second trailer for the opportunity to win a $50,000 production budget to produce a seven part web series for MOVIE EXTRA.
The finalist trailers will broadcast on six of the Movie Network Channels from now until the winner announcement.
The winner will be announced on 12 January, 2011 and the winning series will premiere online at www.mnc.tv and broadcast on air in 2011 on MOVIE EXTRA.
The winner will be selected by a panel of industry judges including; Gyton Grantley, Webfest Ambassador, Marc Fennell, 2010 AFI Award Nominee for ABC’s Hungry Beast, Emma Moroney, Supervising Producer and Christopher Berry, Webfest Executive Producer.
The Movie Extra Webfest finalists were chosen from 100 entries to the facebook page, which made 13,795 fans and received 69,138 votes since its launch on 30 July.
Movie Extra Webfest Executive Producer, Christopher Berry said “we have been delighted with the response to the competition and the massive number of fans who have joined Webfest. The quality of entries is outstanding with many displaying great originality of concept. The tough task of choosing finalists has been decided through a combination of creativity, execution, story, series potential and number of votes.”
The finalist films of MOVIE EXTRA WEBFEST can be viewed on the Movie Extra Webfest facebook page at www.facebook.com/movieextrawebfest (click on the ‘finalists’ tab). Voting for finalists commences on Tuesday 16 November at 9.00am AEST.
