Network Ten today announced more sponsors for its exclusive coverage of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.
Unilever and Carlton & United Breweries have signed on to be part of the biggest free-to-air broadcast of an Olympic Winter Games in Australian television history.
They join Samsung Electronics Australia, PharmaCare Laboratories, Fiat Chrysler Group (Jeep Brand), McDonald’s Australia, Optus and Maurice Blackburn.
Network Ten Chief Sales Officer, Louise Barrett, said: “We are delighted to welcome Unilever and Carlton & United Breweries to our line-up of sponsors for the XXII Olympic Winter Games.
“With just one day to go to the Opening Ceremony, the wait is almost over. We are thrilled to be bringing the breathtaking skill, excitement and drama of the Games to all Australians, for free, live and exclusive on TEN, ONE and tenplay.”
Network Ten’s coverage of the XXII Olympic Winter Games starts on Friday, February 7, and runs until the early hours of Monday, February 24.
Network Ten will broadcast more than 360 hours of live content from the Sochi Games on TEN and ONE, with total coverage of more than 560 hours across the two channels.
Eight dedicated channels will also be available on the tenplay website and via the Sochi 2014 On Ten app, enabling viewers to watch their favourite events and athletes anywhere and at any time.
Tonight, TEN’s special panel show Sochi’s Big Bash will cross live to the Australian Olympic Team reception in Russia for the announcement of the prestigious flag-bearer role for the Opening Ceremony. It will also chat to sport legends Roy and H.G. ahead of their Russian Revolution.
With action on the slopes in Sochi already underway, Sochi’s Big Bash will also join Mark Howard live on the mountain for Aussie golden girl Torah Bright’s Snowboard Slopestyle qualification runs.
From February 8, Sochi Tonight will spearhead TEN’s nightly prime time coverage at 6.00pm. Hosted by TEN’s Stephen Quartermain and Winter Olympic gold medalist Alisa Camplin, Sochi Tonight will be broadcast live from Network Ten’s Melbourne studio.
Network Ten’s flagship Winter Games program will be Sochi Live. Hosted by Mel McLaughlin at Olympic Park in Sochi and Stephen Quartermain and Alisa Camplin in Melbourne, Sochi Live will bring viewers all the action, drama and suspense from the Games as it unfolds.
Network Ten’s commentary team for the Winter Games also includes including Olympic Winter Games Gold medallist Steven Bradbury, Roy and H.G. Nelson, Steven Lee, Mitch Tomlinson, Steph Hickey, Myf Warhurst, Matt Doran, Mark Howard, Brad McEwan, Greg Rust, Nicole Livingstone, Nuala Hafner, Magdalena Roze, Danielle Isdale and Scott Mackinnon.
