New cross-platform content production co launched

Subtitle, a production company specialising in the production of content for the digital environment, launched at the end of November. Operating out of Sydney’s Surry Hills, Subtitle will offer a focused solution to cater for some of the unique challenges presented in this digital space such as the ability to efficiently deliver more responsive, relevant and cost effective content.

Commercial production outfit Collider will collaborate with Subtitle to deliver high quality entertainment to the digital environment, commencing with a new online documentary series for Plan International Australia. Having recently received the green light, the documentary series is now finalising sponsors ahead of a production that will be filmed on location in six
different countries from across the globe.

“We have come to the point where high calibre content, such as the Plan International Australia webisodes, can be created
specifically for the online environment,” says Collider’s Executive Producer Sam Zalaiskalns.

Subtitle also draws upon digital marketing experience through Managing Director Dale Kim. Kim has developed successful
digital marketing campaigns for major brands such as Coca Cola, Pantene and Olay, and understands the challenges
associated with creating online content.

“We saw the writing on the wall when we were reaching half a million people online with highly targeted content. It’s only a
matter of time when targeted video content will achieve the same results, effectively offering a TV size audience base online,” says Kim. “It’s a new and constantly changing space for everyone and we’re in it to prove ourselves – with every project we undertake.”

Subtitle will help production companies to bridge the gap between traditional broadcast and the digital environment as more
networks call for online components to program pitches.

“There was much talk about cross-platform projects at this year’s SPAA conference,” says Kim. “In this area the digital
environment is underutilised, and for the most part, misunderstood – we look forward to assisting content developers deliver
their work to wider audiences and increase their projects’ longevity.”

Subtitle has combined the latest production technologies with a stable of multi-skilled professionals to deliver an end to end
production solution for production companies looking to produce cross-platform projects. Subtitle’s team of digital, marketing and production experts are focused on providing engaging digital video content. Director and Creative Andrew Garrick brings a wealth of experience to Subtitle, having directed and produced TVCs, digital adverts and series for the Australian Labor Party, MTV, Channel 10 and the ABC.
