Gulliver Media’s documentary Of Dogs & Gods has been selected in official competition at the Guangzhou International Documentary Film Festival, China (GZ Doc).
The hour-long High Definition documentary, written, produced and directed by Gulliver’s Christine (Chris) Carroll was co produced with Anhui Television (AHTV), a state-run Chinese provincial television broadcaster.
‘Of Dogs & Gods will be shown both publicly and to professional audiences during GZ Doc, which runs from 2nd to the 8th December this year,’ Ms Carroll said today.
‘I am delighted that my documentary has been selected from many hundreds of documentaries entered by Chinese and international producers. It is a rare honour to be in such a prestigious International documentary festival.’ Chris said
GZ Doc is the premier documentary festival and Marketplace in China attracting thousands of film and television professionals and broadcasters from China with a good representation of international broadcasters in attendance as well.
Of Dogs & Gods will tour (Docs on Tour) in 2008 to different cities around China, bringing documentaries to public audiences in major cities in China, like Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Of Dogs & Gods is also taking part in a weekly screening at the Sapphire Moving Images Salon, followed by themed discussion held presently in Guangzhou. More information about public screening can be viewed on the website: http://www.gzdoc.com/
‘I understand that the organisers of GZ Doc plan to bring the Festival to more Chinese cities in 2008, and to Chinese audiences who rarely have the opportunity to view international documentaries,’ Chris said.
