Australian online movie streaming company Quickflix has secured new internet streaming content deals with Disney, Warner Bros, Madman, Umbrella, Accent Film, Bounty, Gryphon and Transmission Films.
The new deal means that films such as Paul Kelly: Stories of Me and Romantics Anonymous from Madman and Happy Feet Two from Warner Bros will be available through Quickflix's online "pay per view" streaming service.
Quickflix entered the streaming business in July last year and is now available on mobile devices, PC and Mac computers, as well as gaming console PS3. In April, Quickflix made a deal with Microsoft, with an Xbox 360 service available later this year.
Quickflix has previously struck content streaming deals with NBC Universal, Sony Pictures, Icon Film, Pinnacle Films, Selina Chong Movies, Independent Pictures Entertainment and Hopscotch/Entertainment One.
HBO bought a $10 million stake in the company earlier this year.
This year is a busy time for online content providers, with Hoyts announcing plans to launch its own online streaming service called Hoyts Stream, putting it in competition with Quickflix.
