Rivoli Cinemas, one of Australia’s best loved cinemas, will shortly expand its offering in the cinema market with the development of two new 36-seater Gold Class cinemas.
Village Roadshow, the owners of the Rivoli Cinema, has committed to a $3.5 million redevelopment, including the two Gold Class cinemas, plus a luxury bar and restaurant destination.
Gold Class, a concept launched over 10 years ago, has redefined cinema-going for millions of movie-goers worldwide by offering the ultimate theatre experience for people who love movies.
Gold Class blends state-of-the-art private cinemas with fine food and wine, allowing patrons to indulge a little and enjoy a more luxurious trip to the movies.
Settling into deluxe arm chair recliners, you have your choice of more than 15 seasonal menu options and international and local wine list featuring over 35 varieties – Gold Class Cinemas truly provides a movie-going experience like no other.

In conjunction with Heritage Victoria, Village has worked painstakingly to ensure that the development of the new cinemas complements the Art Deco style of the original cinemas.
The Rivoli Cinema in Camberwell first opened for business in 1921 on Burke Road. February 1940 saw the construction of a new facility on the present Camberwell Road site. Over the years the Rivoli has undergone six major alterations, the most recent of which in 2000 saw the renovation of the original two auditoriums, as well as the development of six new cinemas.
Situated in the heart of Hawthorn, only six kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, Rivoli Gold Class is set to be the premiere entertainment destination for discerning customers who choose the ultimate movie-going experience.
