The LifeStyle Channel’s hit local production Selling Houses Australia has broken records to become the highest rating series in subscription television history.
Season 7 of Selling Houses Australia had a record setting season, attracting a cumulative average audience of 603,000 viewers per episode, making it the highest rating season of any series, in subscription television history.
For its seventh season, the series was extended to 13 episodes, culminating in the team’s biggest makeover yet, a pub in the Victorian town of Alexandria. The series featured properties from all over Australia including: a million dollar waterfront mansion; a house that’s taken 27-years to build; an owner with pink and purple hair to match her pink and purple house; a host of dated and daggy time warp tragedies and every home in-between, that no one can sell and no one wants to buy. Once again, the Selling Houses Australia team of host Andrew Winter, interior designer Shaynna Blaze and landscape designer Charlie Albone, pulled out all the stops to turn them in to saleable properties with spectacular results.
Across season 7, in its premiere timeslot of Wednesdays at 8.30pm on The LifeStyle Channel, Selling Houses Australia had a combined average audience of 213,000 viewers, a new series high.
It received its peak audience in episode 12 – a waterfront mansion in Greenwich on Sydney’s north shore – with a combined average audience of 274,000. With 10 airings across the week, episode 12 drew a cumulative average audience of 722,000 viewers, a new record high for a subscription television series.
Across the entire season, Selling Houses Australia reached 2.6 million unique people, equivalent to 37% of all Foxtel subscribers.
