Serena Paull joins Cherub collective

Former Sony Tropfest program director, Serena Paull, has joined Cherub Pictures as a senior producer for director Ben Briand.
 
Briand directed Hammer Bay – the first drama to be commissioned by MTV – as well as a range of music videos and TVCs.
 
Paull said she was drawn to Briand’s knack for driving good performance driven projects.
 
“His distinctive visual aesthetic combined with his talent for performance driven work were major factors in my decision to join the highly acclaimed team at Cherub. He is one of Australia’s key directors to watch and I look forward to working with him across a variety of mediums.” she said.
 
Paull’s ten year career across varied aspects of producing has included the establishment of the Tropfest Feature Program alongside John Polson then producing the feature film September with Lynda House and John Polson.

September has enjoyed widespread critical acclaim and festival success including screenings at Melbourne, Toronto and Berlin International Film Festivals.
 
Prior to this, Paull held the position of project director at Sony Tropfest, having worked with the festival since 2000.
 
Cherub Pictures directors include; Ben Briand, John Curran, Andrew Dominik, Nash Edgerton, Justin Kurzel, Samantha Lang, Luke Shanahan and Cate Shortland.
