Seven greenlights a third season of ‘800 Words’

800 Words.

Channel 7 has commissioned a third season of 800 Words, with production set to begin in New Zealand next month.

800 Words, a Seven and South Pacific Pictures co-pro, stars Erik Thomson as a widower who relocates to NZ along with his kids (Melina Vidler and Benson Jack Anthony).

The role saw Thomson take out the Silver Logie for Most Popular Male in 2016, and Vidler win the Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Newcomer.

“We feel the Turner family’s story is only just beginning," said Channel 7 director of production, Brad Lyons. "There is so much more in store and we can’t wait to share it with Australia, who have embraced this series with such a charming cast and brilliant production team.”

800 Words was co-created by James Griffin and Maxine Fleming and is produced by Chris Bailey. Executive producers are Seven’s head of drama Julie McGauran and John Holmes.

The second half of the second season will begin airing on Seven next week.
