Cutting Edge has extended its range of services in Sydney to now include Audio Post Production, and has signalled its intent to provide high quality creative by appointing Simon ‘Slash’ Hicks, a well credentialed and respected industry stalwart.
The move follows an extensive facility refurbishment, including the installation of a new sound suite and state of the art equipment.
“Cutting Edge’s diverse client list across projects and cities was a huge drawcard,” said Simon.
“This place gets an incredible breadth of work through its doors, and it’s great to operate as part of a sizeable, well organised team,” he said.
Simon’s expertise is in sound design, editing and mixing, but he’s considered a true all rounder. He has a strong focus on managing project efficiency from workflow set-ups and technical requirements; he’s handled the design, implementation and installation of several facilities; has extensive knowledge of Pro Tools, various control surfaces and mixing desks, Dolby Mixing and Mastering, tapeless workflows and meeting industry broadcast standards to achieve the highest QC.
Having worked with clients such as Coca Cola, Rebel Sports, Nike, KFC, Zuji, Lexus and Alfa Romeo, Slash also has a raft of quality features, TV series, documentaries and promos to his name, including The Bra Boys, Mr Sin – The Abe Saffron Story, Family Confidential, Erky Perky 3D animated series and A Traveller’s guide to the Planets.
According to Cutting Edge Executive Producer Sharon Pearson, Simon is a welcome addition to the Sydney team.
“With his breadth of talent across genres, Simon will increase our audio presence in the Sydney market. We’re excited to now have this offering in our newly revamped facility,” said Sharon.
Having wasted no time settling into the Cutting Edge pipeline, Simon has already wrapped up audio for a range of TVC sound design and television projects projects including ABC1’s Home Delivery, with Julia Zemiro.
