Current BVM-X300 owners who wish to include the HDMI and second SDI inputs on their monitor will need to contact a Sony service center as implementation will require hardware and software modifications, which is chargeable. Alternatively it is also possible to only upgrade the existing firmware and not add the additional inputs.
Since its release in early 2015, Sony’s BVM-X300 has been adopted by major post-production houses for color grading as well as monitoring and quality control on the sets of television shows and films. “This monitor has become the de facto reference standard for 4K and HDR grading in post-production suite, and it is also making its way on set and into mobile production,” said Mr. Anthony Kable, Senior Product Manager, Sony Australia & New Zealand. “The new updates enhance the adaptability of Sony’s BVM-X300 to meet the growing demands for production requirements.”
The revised price of generation two BVM-X300 will be announced separately.
