St Kilda Film Fest to screen top 100 Aussie shorts

The St Kilda Film Festival will this year celebrate its 25th Birthday in May with yet another collection of stand-out Australian short films, International short film programs from some of the leading overseas festivals as well as a cracking selection of Australia’s best music video clips.

 
The five day festival will see the top 100 short films screen across 15 competition sessions as part of the St Kilda Film Festival National Short Film Competition. With over $33,000 worth of cash and in-kind craft awards, including a $10,000 cash prize for Best Short Film, entrants are vying for some excellent prizes which will assist them in furthering their filmmaking careers.

 
The St Kilda Film Festival also provides a number of open events including the annual ‘industry open day’ at The George Palace Cinema on Saturday 10 May, the International Short Film panel on Friday 9 May, the film funding forum on Thursday 8 May and the Australian Film Festival panel on Wednesday 7 May.

 
The St Kilda Film Festival will screen Australia’s Top 100 short films, SoundKILDA and an international program of short films from 6 – 11 May in Melbourne before embarking on a national tour of 26 locations including all capital cities and a number of regional destinations.
