Australian comedy-drama Subdivision, which is in contention for the 2010 AFI Awards, is being released in cinemas across Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne this month.
The film was originally released last year in its home state of Queensland, and in NSW, but had a disappointing box office run before successful outings in international festivals including at St Tropez, London, Cannes Film Festival, and at the Dungog Film Festival.
The new viral trailer is aimed at complementing the original cinema trailer, which was designed for a wider marketing strategy. The original Disney cinema trailer can be found here while Subdivision's twitter page can be found here.
The film, which stars Australian actors such as Gary Sweet and Steve Bisley, explores life for a community of building contractors in a coastal town when it's hit by the recession and the bonds of family and friendship are put under financial pressure.
Subdivision can be seen in Western Australia's Movie Masters cinema chain and in Adelaide's Wallis Cinemas from August 12, while a Melbourne season starts on August 26. Gary Sweet (originally from Adelaide) and cast and crew will attend the Adelaide premiere at Wallis' Mathis cinemas on Monday August 9.
