Third Millenium Entertainment has acquired the Australian and New Zealand rights to David Ren’s award winning film, “The Girl from the Naked Eye” following its world premiere at Cannes in 2011. SHE PAID WITH HER LIFE, NOW THEY’RE GONNA PAY WITH THEIRS…
Jason Yee, Samantha Streets, Gary Stretch, Ron Yuan and Dominique Swain star in the action packed thriller telling the story of two people whom are lost in their own worlds and meet under the most unlikely circumstances. Jake (Jason Yee) has a gambling problem and owes some less-than-tolerant lenders so he takes up a job as a driver with seedy escort service, The Naked Eye. En route to an appointment, Jake meets Sandy (Samantha Streets) a working girl that he feels doesn’t deserve to be where she is. They form an unforeseen bond and give each other the will to strive for a better life. When Sandy is found murdered, Jake sets out to avenge her death – with everyone against him, deciphering through lies, clues and his own true feelings about Sandy, The Girl from The Naked Eye…
“Jason Yee’s fascinating performance draws you past the macho tough-guy exterior to the depths of his character’s existential torment which explodes in bloody and artfully conceived action sequences.” INDIEWIRE
So what now? Having Won the Royal Reel Award at the Canadian International Film Festival and the Festival Award for Best Cinematography (Max Da-Yung Wang) and being nominated for 6 other awards including Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Best Director at Hoboken International Film Festival in 2011, The Girl From The Naked Eye is a must see for 2012!
“We are planning the theatrical release for October this year, being the first theatrical film for TME – there is a lot of hype in office” says TME CEO Shane Rizkallah.
Third Millenium Entertainment is a fairly new Independent Film Distribution Company, currently with a catalogue of over 30 titles – 11 of which are already released straight to DVD throughout Australia and New Zealand. Established in 2009, TME has overcome many hurdles and shows the strength to be able to stay in the competitive distribution game.
‘We may be a small, but unlike other companies we maintain ourselves in strength as a unit, we work as one’ says Marketing Director Charys Caldarella.
