Tomorrow, When The War Began goes international

Paramount Pictures International will take Stuart Beattie blockbuster Tomorrow, When The War Began overseas after a new distribution deal was announced today.

After massive launches in both Australia and New Zealand, Paramount has acquired distribution rights for the UK, Russia, South Africa, Portugal and Scandinavia.

“We are delighted to be distributing Tomorrow, When the War Began in these additional markets and greatly look forward to bringing this story to international audiences," Paramount Pictures International president Andrew Cripps said in a statement.

The $27 million (est) film, the biggest in Australia for 2010, is the directorial debut of Hollywood screenwriter Beattie (Collateral, Pirates of the Caribbean) and was produced by Omnilab Media's production arm Ambience Entertainment.

Tomorrow, which opened on September 2, has now made $11,093,279 Down Under and more than $NZ1.2 million in New Zealand.
