An exotic take on the age-old boy-meets-girl tale, it explores the determination of young Kazakhstani naval graduate Asa, who returns home to marry the girl of his dreams, fulfil his desire to run his own farm, and become master of his own destiny.
Director Sergey Dvortsevoy has moved heaven and earth to bring audiences this amazing glimpse into a world apart from the one we know. Through a tight family unit living a harsh existence of nomads on Kazakhstan’s Hunger Steppe, we see that beauty can be found in the most unlikely places and are reminded of the simple fact that life is for living.
