Val Morgan CEO Damian Keogh announced today the appointment of former OMD Group Business Director Mark Griffiths to the newly created role of Director of Agency Strategy.
“Mark’s role will be to work closely with our sales team and media agencies in maximising the benefits of the step change to digital cinema. Many media agencies discount cinema in the media mix due to perceptions of cost relating to film transfer and length of time to air. Digital cinema will change this with campaigns able to be booked just like television. Mark’s experience makes him the ideal person to spearhead our education push to media agencies.”
Griffiths has held numerous senior media agency roles and was most recently Group Business Director at OMD Sydney, a position he held for five years. Mark’s previous experience includes senior roles within Initiative Sydney, Mindshare Sydney and Carat London.

Val Morgan is a company on the move and we have seen that the conversion to digital cinema in other countries has increased advertising to cinema significantly. Having worked on the media agency side I am familiar with the reasons why cinema is often not included in campaigns. Cinema offers a unique and powerful environment for advertiser’s that is becoming even more compelling in the fragmenting media landscape” said Griffiths.
Digital conversion in cinema in Australia is expected to reach 80% by the middle of 2012.
The appointment is effective immediately.
