Digital media migration specialists Video-8 today announced that it has acquired the Sydney based DVD/CD/BluRay duplication and Pro Media stock sales businesses of Silver Trak Digital.
Founded in 1982 Silver Trak Digital has grown to become one of Australia’s leading media duplicators with experience in audio, visual, content management, duplication, manufacturing, distribution and media services.
Video-8 Managing Director Robert Scott said, “Silver Trak Digital’s Sydney businesses are an excellent acquisition for Video-8. Silver Trak complements our product offering perfectly as it also offers high quality multimedia encoding, DVD authoring, mastering, CD/DVD duplication and replication as well as CD/DVD packing and fulfilment. Another big part of the attraction for Video-8 is Silver Trak Digital’s media and consumables business which handles sales of Sony Pro Media alongside Verbatim, Taiyo Uden and all packing components.”
The acquisition was completed on 1 September 2009 and according to Scott it’s not only business as usual but there is also an aggressive push to promote the key benefits of both companies under one roof. He added, “We will be moving the Silver Trak businesses to our Artarmon premises by 1 October 2009 and they will continue trading as ‘Silver Trak Digital’. I am delighted to announce that we are also keeping on all the key staff from Silver Trak Digital, including Head of Sales Christian Christiansen. This means our clients will experience a seamless handover and can continue to deal with the excellent staff from Silver Trak as they have always done. Christian and his team will be contacting all of our joint customers and detailing exactly how this deal will help them and their businesses in the very near future.”
Commenting on the timing of the acquisition Scott concluded, “Despite the challenging financial climate Video-8 is committed to expansion and growth, including the acquisition of viable businesses that will add value to our overall offering. The acquisition of Silver Trak Digital widens the services provided by Video-8 and means critically, that we can now assist our customers from providing stock for acquisition right through to archiving finished product.”
