Six Nominations for The Solid State

Press release from The Solid State

The Sydney-based creative agency were nominated for their trailers for A Few Best Men, 2 Little Boys and Tall Man, their presales trailer for the upcoming feature Babylon and film festival trailers for The French Film Festival and Message Sticks Film Festival.

Each year, through an open competition judged by film industry notables, the Golden Trailer Awards recognize the creative people who make movie trailers, teasers, tvcs and posters in a gala award show. Since moviegoers consistently rate trailers as one of the most entertaining parts of the theatre experience, the Golden Trailer Awards celebrates the craftsmanship and allure of these potent mini-epics with a fast-paced show in LA

The company is competing in 4 categories: Best Trailer- No Movie [Babylon – JaggiShute ], Best Foreign Comedy [A Few Best Men-Arclight Films and Two Little Boys – Hopscotch], Best Foreign Documentary [The Tall Man – Hopscotch] and Best Film Festival Trailer [The French Film Festival and Message Sticks Film Festival]

"We're excited to receive these nominations and to have our work recognised against some of the biggest international marketing campaigns" says Company Director Danny Lachevre "Most of our trailer nominations have come from work that began at pre-sales stage which proves to us the earlier key marketing messages are worked on, the stronger the elements are at theatrical rollout."

"That’s 18 nominations in 5 years which is a great testament to all the hard work the team put in here." says Co Director Walter Bienz "We’ve had a great run of projects over the last 12 months, collaborating with some some fantastic clients, like Iron Sky [New Holland Pictures] and Bait [Paramount Pictures]. However, my highlight was getting our poster for Al Pacino’s ‘Wilde Salome’ signed by the man himself.”

"We're absolutely thrilled to hear that the pre-sales trailer for Babylon has been nominated for a Golden Trailer award” says film producer Steve Jaggi of JaggiShute.

The Solid State's work on our first film 'Short Beach' has truly connected with its teen audience so we were eager to collaborate with them again. Working with such a high-calibre team on Babylon – from the writing of Stephen Sewell to the film's Executive Producer, the Academy Award-winning Bruce Beresford – it made perfect sense to engage The Solid State in the early stages of pre-production to bring Babylon's daring aesthetic to the market place," says producing partner Liz Shute.
