St George Openair Cinema opens tonight with Burlesque

St.George OpenAir Cinema launches its 2011 season in style tonight, Wednesday 12 January, when celebrities, identities and more than 1500 patrons gather for the exclusive Sydney premiere of BURLESQUE, starring Cher & Christina Aguilera.

Written and directed by Steven Antin, and also starring Stanley Tucci, Kristen Bell, Alan Cumming, Eric Dane and Cam Gigandet, BURLESQUEis the story of Ali (Aguilera), a small town girl with a big voice who escapes hardship and an uncertain future to follow her dreams in L.A.

Taking a job as a cocktail waitress at The Burlesque Lounge, Ali is mesmerised by the outrageous costumes and choreography of the performers. She soon works her way on stage to reveal extraordinary talents, and in doing so turns around the fortunes of the ailing Lounge and its owner Tess (Cher), as well as her own.

Always a leading social event, and complete with burlesque dancers in attendance, opening night is attracting a host of VIPs eager to enjoy the unique charms of this special event.
