SXSW Interactive recognises Australian digital storytelling

PRESS RELEASE

The Project Factory today announced that its Ringbalin interactive story app was awarded second place at the SXSW Interactive convention in Austin, Texas overnight.

Guy Gadney, Executive Director of The Project Factory, said: “SXSW is a showcase of the best interactive storytellers around the world, and for Ringbalin to be recognized so highly in this field is quite fantastic.”

“Ringbalin brings together many peoples’ passions for the Australian indigenous stories that are at the core of Australia’s identity, and those passions flow through in the way the stories are told, and in the way they have been represented across multiple screens”, Gadney said.

“goodmorningbeautiful Films, the producers of the documentary and the app, have been wonderful partners on this project, and working together to realize this vision has taught us all a lot about the power of digital media to retell stories in new and impactful ways”, Gadney said.
