On November 22, 2010, one of science’s all time greats – Frank Fenner – died at age 95. Professor Fenner was a pioneer in both human and animal virology and was a genuine Australian hero.
His scientific career has changed the lives of millions and had a major impact on our planet. The most famous of his work includes malaria control in WW2, the control of Australia’s rabbit plague through the introduction of myxomatosis, and the worldwide eradication of smallpox.
Professor Fenner led an extraordinary life and now his immeasurable contributions to science will be forever immortalised in a documentary produced by Kojo Productions and the Government of South Australia.
