New South Wales is the leading state for screen production and home to almost half of Australia’s screen industry. Screen NSW is dedicated to championing, fostering, and funding our thriving sector so NSW screen practitioners can continue to make groundbreaking content that connects with audiences here at home and right around the globe.
Screen NSW offers a range of grants, incentives and rebates including the Made in NSW Fund, Production Finance and the Post, Digital and Visual Effects and Digital Games Rebate, as well as audience and industry development support.
Recently, Screen NSW announced Zaina Ahmed, Zac Garred and Olivia Olley as the recipients of the 2024 Emerging Producer Placement Program. The program is targeted at emerging producers living in NSW from underrepresented backgrounds that have at least one credit as a producer on a short film or web series. The next round of applications will launch over the coming months, with the announcement coming first via Screen NSW newsletter and social media accounts.
It’s game on for NSW digital game creators with applications now open for Screen NSW’s new Digital Games Seed Development Program. First announced as part of the NSW Government’s Creative Communities policy, the program will deliver vital support to the rapidly growing digital games sector in NSW. With applications open until Thursday 18 April, the program will strengthen the capacity of the local industry, ensuring a diverse pipeline of projects from gamemaker talent in NSW.
As well as providing funding opportunities, Screen NSW is also hosting a monthly webinar series to help demystify market partners and support mid-level creators and producers to feel more confident to create and pitch projects. The series has featured many movers and shakers (and decision makers) in the industry including Head of Stan Originals, Amanda Duthie and Managing Director of Maslow Entertainment, Marc Wooldridge. In April, Screen NSW welcomes Co-Founder and CEO of Madman Entertainment Paul Wiegard to discuss Madman’s slate and what is exciting him in the sector right now. The Screen NSW News & Media page is the best way to stay across all details on webinars.
Screen NSW want to keep you connected and informed, announcing these opportunities and many others via our monthly newsletter, website and social media accounts. To stay up to date with the latest funding opportunities as well as industry news, interviews, webinars and networking events from Screen NSW visit our website and sign up to our newsletter.
We look forward to working and connecting with you.
