Scoring for the 2007 IF Awards closes in just over one week

Time is running out for movie fans to have their say on Australian films from the past year, with scoring for the Inside Film Awards closing at midnight on 14 September. Widely regarded as the people’s choice awards for Australian film, audiences have been scoring movies at http://www.ifawards.com/ and at festivals since 18 September 2006. All films that have screened publicly in a cinema or at an IF Awards accredited festival between 18 September 2006 and 14 September 2007 are eligible.
Clare Sawyer, General Manager of the IF Awards comments: “rating for the IF Awards is a great way to connect with filmmakers all over the country, by giving your opinion on films that we make here. Inside Film want to hear the whole spectrum of responses, so if you loved them or hated them, just make sure you are rating them. You’ve only got one more week to make your opinion count.”
Audiences can rate feature films in six categories – Overall Score (given to the film with the highest overall rating), Leading Actor, Leading Actress, Cinematography, Music and Script. Short films, animations, documentaries and the new addition for 2007 Music Videos can also be rated. Further awards, including the Living Legend IF Award, Independent Spirit IF Award, Atlab IF Award for Rising Talent and ZTudio What IF? Award for Best Unproduced Screenplay, are decided on by panels of industry judges.
To ensure a fair result, The Inside Film Awards use a rating system where audiences rate Australian films using a scoring system of one to five (with the lowest score of 1 – gimme a refund, to a maximum of 5 - standing ovation). Therefore, participants are not voting for one film against another, rather they are stating their opinion on each and every film they have seen. Films can be rated online at http://www.ifawards.com/ or by filling out score sheets distributed at some accredited film festivals.
