Rohan Lund, Seven West Media’s former group chief operating officer, is joining Foxtel in January.
He’s been appointed chief operating officer, in effect taking most of the responsibilities performed by Peter Tonagh, who has joined News Corp.
Also at Foxtel, Gavin Dumsday has been promoted to chief financial officer in a restructure orchestrated by CEO Richard Freudenstein.
Lund will be responsible for strategy, stand-alone IPTV, broadband development, IT, product, broadcast technology and broadcast operations.
He announced he was resigning from Seven West Media in September after Tim Worner was promoted to CEO. According to media reports Lund had been seeking a broader role at Kerry Stokes’ Seven Group Holdings. Lund was formerly CEO of Yahoo! 7 and director of strategy and investments at Seven West.
“I am delighted that an executive of Rohan’s calibre has chosen to join Foxtel’s leadership team,” Freudenstein said. “Rohan has deep experience across many consumer platforms and he will add new strength to Foxtel’s innovation.
“Gavin has been a key finance executive at Foxtel for ten years and will bring extensive knowledge, passion and commitment to his new role. “
