Press release from Foxtel
FOXTEL’s FOX8 today announced that Australian cricketing legend, Allan Border, will be the key judge for the upcoming reality series, Cricket Superstar, to air later in 2011.
FOX SPORTS cricket commentator Border is an Australian cricket hero having competed in over 150 test matches and amassed over 11,000 test runs.
He still retains the world record for the number of consecutive test appearances as well as the number of tests as captain (1984-1994).
Border’s wealth of experience on the field is matched only by his off-field talent in nurturing and instructing young players – with Border responsible for guiding some of today’s best including: Matthew Hayden, Glenn McGrath, Steve and Mark Waugh, Justin Langer and Shane Warne.
“This show is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a young ambitious Australian cricket player to take a giant leap. It will be the ultimate test of skill, stamina and perseverance as well as compelling viewing for everyone at home.” said Border.
Border, along with FOX Sports presenter Lee Furlong, will soon begin their nationwide search for Australia’s top 15 male cricketers who will then live together and compete in a range of challenges for the opportunity to be the next Cricket Superstar.
