New Aboriginal based film announced

RLC Motion Pictures is proud to announce the Australian produced and Aboriginal based motion picture Dingo Dreaming has been given the green light and will begin shooting in the remote town of Wiluna, Western Australia, in June this year.

Written and directed by W. John Hackwell and starring American Actor Charles Matthau, (son of legendary actor Walter Matthau), and former Australian Heavyweight Boxing Champion Joe Bugner, Dingo Dreaming began official pre-production today after lengthy discussions with the Wongi People of Wiluna, regional businesses and private investors.

Russell Cunningham, Producer of Dingo Dreaming, says ‘It is a great day for the Australian Film Industry with this announcement especially with today being National Sorry Day.  We have overwhelming support from the Wongi people from Wiluna as they will play important roles in the production.’

‘It has been a long two and a half years getting Dingo Dreaming from being just a dream to a reality,’ says Cunningham.

‘Obtaining approvals and getting this film off the ground has been arduous and we owe a tremendous vote thanks to Barry Haase (Federal Member for Kalgoorlie) for his ongoing support and Mick Wilson, a Director of Golden West Resources who has put his own funds up to raise the film project.’

‘The community of Wiluna will gain benefits from the films storyline and international audience interests as well as participation in the profits will be reverted to the Wongi People of Wiluna.’

Dingo Dreaming is the story of one man’s quest for fulfillment played out against the heroism of Aboriginal art which is set in the vibrant Australian outback. The film centres around Joseph (Matthau), a prominent Jewish-American art appraiser, who travels from New York to a remote Aboriginal town in outback Australia to authenticate a collection of Aboriginal Paintings. Joe’s outback adventure quickly descends into a desperate struggle for integrity as he unravels an ingenious forgery.
