SHORT FILMS FOR MIFF

Submissions are now open for the 65th Festival where all short films are contenders for the 55th MIFF Shorts Awards, one of the most highly regarded short-film competitions in the Southern Hemisphere. Last year the eligible short films were competing for a total cash prize pool of $42,000.
The MIFF Shorts Awards are Academy®, BAFTA and AACTA accredited. The winners of the Best MIFF Short, Best Australian and Best Documentary awards are eligible to submit their film for the Academy Awards®. Two of last years MIFF prize winners are nominated in the shorts category for an Oscar this year. Everything Will Be Okay (Alles Wird Gut) was the winner of the City of Melbourne Grand Prix for Best Short Film and We Can't Live Without Cosmos (Mi Ne Mozhem Zhit Bez Cosmos) was the winner of the MIFF Award for Best Animation Short Film.
