AIDC names new CEO

Britt Arthur has been appointed as the new chief executive/conference director of the Australian International Documentary Conference. 

Arthur has worked across several top rating series including: Grand Designs Australia, Married at First Sight, MY:24, The Force and the Australian version of Who Do You Think You Are? Her independent documentaries (SMUT HOUNDS, Life Architecturally, My Uncle Bluey and Not in Front of the Kids) have screened in several prestigious film festivals.

Co-chairs, Karena Slaninka said, Arthur presented a fresh and exciting vision for the conference.

"We are confident that she will take the conference in a direction that will ensure it remains relevant in a rapidly changing media landscape," he said. 

"Britt’s vision aligns with the Board’s goals to facilitate business, professional development and networking opportunities in an imaginative and entertaining way.”

Kerry Herman has also been appointed to the role of Conference Producer. 

Herman has worked across a range of industries including conferences and awards for the AFIs, SPA and the ADG. She has also produced two documentaries and pitched at international pitching competitions. 

Megan Mohell joins the team in the role of administration manager. 

Karena Slaninka will continue to support the team in an executive producer capacity, to facilitate the transition to a new operational model and support the delivery of the 2016 conference in a relatively short time frame.

The 28th annual AIDC conference will be held from February 28 to March 2, 2016. 

The AIDC Board and incoming chief executive are committed to building on the strengths of the brand and will be announcing a range of exciting events, speakers and pitching opportunities in the coming weeks. 

The AIDC's principal partner is Film Victoria. It is hosted in Melbourne by major supporting partner, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image.
