ARRI Australia becomes new ACS patron

Press release from Well Above

ARRI Australia recently loaned one of their high-end ALEXA PLUS cameras to the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) for a week’s worth of demos and training. The company also became the latest patron of the ACS at the end of the week-long event.

Many ACS members took the opportunity to go to the ACS’ HQ in Sydney and try out all the functions of the ALEXA PLUS camera and its accessories. At the end of the week ARRI Munich Managing Director Professor Franz Kraus, in town visiting ARRI’s Australian subsidiary, also gave the ACS members an illuminating talk, illustrated with footage from the ALEXA PLUS, on the background of the camera and an insight into the technical developments planned for 2012 and beyond.

ACS National President Ron Johanson said, “It was an extremely interesting and informative presentation followed by a just as interesting Q&A enlivened by the informal atmosphere of the HQ and we were honoured to have the big boss of ARRI there for the night.”

As part of the week long event ARRI Australia also announced that they were becoming an ACS Patron.

Johanson added, “I am very pleased that ARRI Australia have come on board as our latest ACS Patron. The ARRI Australia plaque on the Wall of Can Do was officially unveiled at the end of the week and our thanks go to ARRI Australia for their support.”

ARRI Australia MD Stefan Sedlmeier added, “We are delighted to increase our sponsorship and support of the ACS by becoming an ACS Patron. We look forward to a closer partnership and many more events with their members throughout 2012 and beyond.”
