Cineworld selects Vista as technology partner

Cineworld recently decided that in order to meet one of its key strategic objectives – namely to: “Use technology to improve our customers' experience and the efficiency of our operations”. It needed a new technology partner and cinema management system. A formal selection process was embarked upon and the final decision was to go with the world leader – Vista. The selection of Vista is part of a wider project to update the systems and technology platforms operated by Cineworld.

Vista has been in use within the Cineworld business at the O2 Arena so the Cineworld staff already had an understanding of what an outstanding solution Vista really is.

The deal was concluded by the Vista UK office who are now embarking on the project to install Cineworld’s 79 sites with the completion expected in mid 2012. The project not only includes the world renowned Vista POS, but also Web, Head Office, Film programming, Loyalty, Voucher Management and Call Centre. This will make Cineworld Vista’s largest client in Europe.

Phil Meredith (Vista General Manager, Europe) states: “Cineworld and Vista went through a robust selection process and it is great that Vista was the chosen solution. I know that both Vista and Cineworld are excited to be embarking on what we know will be a successful long term relationship. This deal takes the Vista market share in the UK to over 50% and pushes us close to 20% across Europe as a whole. This is an exciting time for Vista and Cineworld and I am personally looking forward to a successful project and continued success in the market generally.

Cineworld wanted to select the best solution for their immediate needs as well as ensure that the investment was focussed on the future of the business as well. This is one area where Vista really does set itself apart from its competitors. Vista has a scheduled release of new updates and features every month! All of these new features are made available to the entire Vista client base and ensure that the Vista products continue to deliver world leading and innovative functionality.

Vincent McGann (Cineworld Head of IT) was a key member of the selection panel and is delighted to have chosen Vista.
