Entries open for Australia’s richest film prize: CinefestOZ 2016

Call for submissions to the 2016 CinéfestOZ Film Prize Filmmakers have the chance to win Australia’s greatest film prize of $100,000 Entries are now open for the CinéfestOZ Film Prize, to be awarded during the August festival, in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. This $100,000 Film Prize is awarded to an Australian feature film for excellence in film making. In 2014, the inaugural CinéfestOZ Film Prize was won by the family friendly, Robert Connolly-directed film, Paper Planes, which performed strongly at the Australian box office after its 15 January 2015 cinema release, raking in $9.65 million in the box office. The 2015 CinéfestOZ Film Prize was awarded to the remarkable documentary Putuparri and the Rainmakers, which had its cinematic release in November 2015. The CinéfestOZ Film Prize is supported by the Western Australian State Government through Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program, which is funded by Royalties for Regions. Rio Tinto is a proud Premium Partner of CinéfestOZ. Shortlisted films vying for the Prize will premiere at CinéfestOZ Film Festival that this year will be held from the 24 to 28 August.
