Newcastle businessman Shane Burrell is set to celebrate the launch of region’s first feature film, television, commercial and trailer post-production facility, FinalPost, on November 3.
The facilty aims to offer clients the same high-quality service they can expect from capital city-based post houses but at a lower cost thanks to its regional location.
“Our region hosts some of the most passionate and creative people in Australia but often find it difficult to get ideas up," Burrell said in a statement. "By localising essential tools and services within our region we will begin to see some great content develop locally."
FinalPost will house Australia’s first Precision Panel while its colourists have worked on acclaimed films such as Samson & Delilah and Mao’s Last Dancer.
The launch will be attended by special guests including Screen NSW chief executive Tania Chambers and the Production Attraction Team's Cheryl Conway, local Newcastle member Tim Owen, and colourist Pete Harrow (The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader).
