Award-winning Australian multi-platform content specialists Hoodlum will be presented with the inaugural Innovation Award at the ADG Awards to be held in Sydney this Friday, May 2.
The ADG award for Innovation was established in 2014, to acknowledge the achievements of individuals or organisations building opportunities for directors in and out of the mainstream, and that expand their creative work as storytellers in new and innovative ways.
Brisbane-based Hoodlum will be honoured by the Guild at the ADG Awards for the company’s multi-platform body of work spanning interactive experiences and original TV series.
The company has pioneered new pathways for entertainment across film, TV, online and social media with award-winning shows such as the Lost ARG (Alternative Reality Game) Find 815, The Emmerdale Online Channel, Spooks Interactive, The Bourne Legacy on-line experience Operation Intel and Primeval Evolved. Hoodlum’s projects have bridged traditional silos since 1999, leading audiences across film, broadcast TV, email, voicemail, SMS, apps and social media. They continue to innovate with the multiplatform releases of Secrets and Lies and The Strange Calls – the first Australian series to be licensed to US on-demand online video channel Hulu.
Accepting the award on behalf of Hoodlum will be Louise O’Donnell, Hoodlum Director of Digital, and the company Chair Deanne Weir.
Weir said: "Everyone at Hoodlum is thrilled that Hoodlum has been chosen as the inaugural recipient of the ADG Innovation Award. For nearly 15 years, Hoodlum has been producing compelling television and multiplatform content that always puts the story and the audience first, but also uses technical and production innovations that make what we do that much more interesting. To be recognised for our work by the ADG, the ultimate storytellers, is extremely exciting."
The ADG Awards are this Friday May 2 at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney.
